Well made

Have you ever wished you were someone else? I know I have. Plenty of times. Sometimes, we loath in self-pity and think about all the things we would change about ourselves or our circumstances, if we had the power to do so. We have grown to be so dissatisfied with who we really are. Consumers spend hundreds of billions of dollars each year with products to make us feel better about ourselves, externally. You know, the usual products to make us look slimmer, taller, shapelier, sexier, and younger! LOL!

Far too often, as God’s masterpieces, we look into the mirror each day and see all the flaws and things we wish we could change about our bodies. In spite of the images that are plastered on social media, the photoshopped images carefully portrayed on the cover of renown magazines, no one has a perfect body! Now don’t get me wrong. There are people that work extremely hard to maintain a well toned, physically fit body. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that. My point is to STOP comparing one self with others. We should all get to the point that we can sincerely appreciate the person and the body that stares back at us from the mirror! We should appreciate the body we have been given even though it is not perfect. We should appreciate the strength, the continuity of every joint, muscle, and movement.

The human body is quite fascinating if we really think about it! It heals itself and create antibodies to fight off any foreign substance that enters it! God is so awesome and so vast that when He fashioned us in our mother’s womb that He created only ONE of us. Our DNA proves it! Isn’t that absolutely amazing? With that said, we should really stop comparing ourselves to other people and just be thankful for who we are, where we are. Yes, we can work on improving our health and becoming more fit and just have a pure appreciation for the person God designed us to be.

Our society tries to indoctrinate us all on who we should be and how we should look. We cannot take our cues from this world but look to the Creator. After all, He is the Potter and we are the clay! The world needs you to be the person that God destined you to be! So, the next time you are tempted to criticize yourself, please remember what Psalm 139:14 tells us:

“I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvelous are thy works; and that my soul knows right well.”

Well, thank you for stopping by. Until next time, my friends!

Blessings
